Sunglasses – We’ve Got You Covered!
By support on June 27, 2018
Why wear sunglasses? Well they look great but are more than just a fashion accessory.
Don’t trust the health of your eyes to cheap sunglasses from bargain stores. Your sunglasses should absolutely provide 100% UV Protection or be certified UV400. This means that your eyes and the delicate skin around them will be protected against the sun’s very harmful UVA and UVB rays. Every pair we sell offers this protection.
Did you know that 10% of skin cancer cases are located around the eye area? The sun’s rays can affect your eyes in several ways, they can lead to cataracts, cancer and can exacerbate macular degeneration or cause pterygium, also known as surfer’s eye, and snow-blindness.
Driving can be much safer when wearing sunglasses as they will cut down on dazzling glare, particularly if your lenses are polarised.
Your sunglasses should be a good fit, sitting back on the bridge of your nose, covering all the delicate skin around the eyes. In addition to blocking as many of the sun’s harmful rays, this will also lead to general eye comfort as well as protection from wind, dust and sand.
Sunglasses aren’t just for adults! Children by the age of 18 will have absorbed between 60 – 80% of their lifetime exposure to UV rays. At Geoff Steven and Sons we have a great 2 for 1 offer for children, have a pair made as sunglasses at no extra charge!
This summer we have a fantastic range of RayBan, Oakley, and Guess sunglasses. You can also take advantage of some spectacular savings on prescription sunglasses.
